Transient insomnia strikes again. I’m crazy tired – not frightened or miserable. I think the mouth turned out not quite right – probably because I drew it after only 4 hours sleep 😉
How cute ^_^ my name is Rachael also… I spell it a little different hehe but who cares… I saw your art work and thought it looked really cute… I’ve had many of nights when I haven’t been able to sleep either and just decided to draw… I think it’s cute you actually did a picture of you not being able to sleep… it looks great… very cute style! great post!
There’s something refreshing about your drawings. I can sympathize with the not being able to sleep, I have that problem too–only when I can’t sleep I don’t have a drawing talent to fall back on (or poor, poor me!)
Boy, can I relate to this! I suffer with ME/CFS and I am going through a very sleepless period! I’m trying to research alternative ways of combating my sleep problems for my blog. Have you tried anything that has been successful?
Hi Andie – So far my insomnia is pretty transient. It comes and goes. It’s been particularly frequent since I’ve had this current viral infection on top of CFS.
Relatively speaking it’s probably pretty mild compared to a lot of folks
As I don’t have any commitments (most of the time) I just try not to worry about it. If I can’t get off to sleep after a hour or so then I get up and have a drink (water or hot chocolate) and do a bit of gentle web surfing. Usually I feel sleepy enough after a couple of hours to try and sleep again. But I know I will catch up sooner or later so it’s not too bad.
I find sometimes ear plugs work. If my brain is busy whirring away it’s weird but sometimes ear plugs helps to quiten my thoughts too!
I read just recently a theory that CFS is caused by mutation or what it infection … anyway problems with your cells. And that this also effects your body clock. This seems to make perfect sense to me! As when I am awake in the night it feels like the middle of the day!
I hope you find something to help you. I think everyone is different.
Hi Rachel – boy, can I relate to the feeling of daytime in the middle of the night…it really does feel that way – you’re wide awake and raring to go…except your legs don’t quite agree with your brain!
I’ve tried earplugs and you’re right they do work, except I always worry I might not hear the cats crying or a burglar breaking in and stealing all my china!
Like you, I don’t have any commitments, as I retired from teaching this year (due to ME/CFS). I spend my waking hours writing. Yet, I still long for some sort of normality, in terms of sleeping – I would love to be awake when the sun shines.
